About Us

We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.

Cochrane’s newest school, Fireside School, opened in November 2017 and has a capacity of nearly 900 students from kindergarten to grade 8. Schools in Alberta are built without playgrounds, so the parent fundraising group is in a position to design, build, and fund an incredible and meaningful play space for the children and youth of Cochrane, the Fireside School Playground for All Kids. 

Our mission is to serve Fireside School by fundraising to directly benefit all children of the school by contributing funds that will help to enhance their learning and skills through fostering community spirit.  We will bring inclusivity and a sense of belonging to each and every child, who would benefit from funds raised by the community.

We envision the Friends of Fireside School Society as a passionate parent-driven organization that engages the community to create a safe, enriching, and welcoming school experience. We will continue to further enhance funding to ensure every student experiences an educational journey that allows them to thrive.
